"content": "Hi!\n\nLast weekend, I saw a tweet that from Jeff K0JSC that AMSAT retweeted, \nsaying that there would be a new AMSAT net starting up on Thursdays at\n1900 local time (currently 0200 UTC Friday). I e-mailed Jeff for more \ninformation about the net, so I could update AMSAT's list of nets at:\n\nhttp://ww2.amsat.org/?page_id=2113\n\nI was also hoping to be able to connect into the net. Jeff explained that \nthe net was available on the Rocky Mountain Radio League's 146.940 \nMHz repeater near Denver, as well as on his system of repeaters in \nColorado. After some back-and-forth e-mails, I was able to find a way\nto connect into the Allstar Link system and get to Jeff's repeater system\nas the net was starting up last night. The web site for Jeff's repeater \nsystem http://www.k0jsc.com/ provides an audio feed from the repeater \nsystem, for those wanting to listen in on the activity. \n\nThe net control last night was Skyler KD0WHB, a 15-year-old ham. If\nI didn't hear it mentioned on the net, I wouldn't have realized this was \nthe first time he had been a net control. Skyler read satellite-related \nnews bulletins, took check-ins, and asked everyone who checked in if\nthey had ever worked satellites. There were 10 check-ins to the net, 9\nfrom around Colorado plus me. \n\nCongratulations to KD0WHB for running a great net, K0JSC and the \nRocky Mountain Radio League for allowing those repeaters to be used\nfor the net, and everyone who checked in. It was great to hear the \ndiscussion related to satellites. \n\n73!\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK \nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\n\n\n",
