"content": "\n\nJohn, I for one appreciate very much your efforts and documentation of passes. This is especially true when my tape log stops or picks up more wind noise than I am giving! Or for when I leave the tape machine at the office and I am a parking lot away.\nMany tnx fer a fine service! And for this effort to preserve a piece of ham sat history.\n73\nGeorge\nWA5KBH \n -----Original Message-----\nFrom: \"John Papay\" <[email protected]>\nSent: Sunday, March 18, 2012 17:30\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Satellite Recordings 2 Year Anniversary\n\n\n\nToday marks the two year anniversary of my satellite\nrecordings website. Since March 18th, 2010, there have\nbeen about 2800 recordings posted totalling about 1.9Gb.\n\nAO-51 is the most recorded satellite with 1358 files. It\nwas a great bird and its demise was a great loss to the\nsatellite community. But the sound from it is preserved.\nIt's interesting to go back and listen to some of the older\nrecordings to see what has changed and what has not changed.\n\nAO-27 is the second most popular with about 920 recordings. They\nare all edited to remove the part of the pass that is either silent\nor contains telemetry.\n\nHO-68 is another bird which we all miss. There are 86 pass\nrecordings to remember it by. Likewise there are 69 recordings\nof SO-67, a bird you could hear easily with a rubber duck antenna.\n\nThere are linear bird recordings as well but I don't post many\nsince you have to tune around to pick up qso's and then stay\nwith them for a bit. But they are there and some show how much\nlike HF a linear bird can sound like when someone like UT1FG/MM\nshows up from a wet grid.\n\nNow that VO-52 is back on I'll try to post some recordings of\nthat one as well.\n\nI'm not sure how much longer I'll continue to post these recordings.\nMany that could benefit from them don't know they are there.\n\n73,\nJohn K8YSE\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
