"content": "hi, I use a simple 30 dollar radio shack vertical scanner antenna on short 15 feet of 9913 cable and an arr preamp for uhf recieve and a regular \nlow gain vhf vertical for transmit. These work quite well on the fm satellites where I start getting workable receive when the satellite is 10 \nto 20 degrees above the horizon and higher. Both antennas are connected to a duplexer and then to my ft8800r dual band fm rig.\npat, n2oeq\n\n\n\n>------- Original Message -------\n>From : Jacob Tennant[mailto:[email protected]]\n>Sent : 3/19/2010 7:44:32 AM\n>To : [email protected]\n>Cc : \n>Subject : RE: [amsat-bb] Simple antennas\n>\n >Could anyone give me some advice on using a setup consisting of the smaller\nantennas such as K5OE Eggbeaters, dual-crossed MOXON's from ARRL site.\n\nI am starting to build the dual-crossed MOXON setup as I am running into\nsome snags getting my planned bigger antenna setup installed as well as I\nwas hoping to use the smaller antenna setup for a Field Day setup but don't\nwant to wait till that day to use them and look like a fool!!!!\n\nWould even consider the quadrifilliar antennas if I could find the plans for\nboth bands?\n\nJacob Tennant - K8JWT\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
