Check out the\nlink below for information on the other programs and exhibits (including\nSkywarn) going on at the same time.  \n\n \n\n73, \n\nEric W3DQ\n\n \n\nHurricane Hunters Tour Coming to Reagan Washington National Airport Tuesday\nMay 9th, 2017\n\n \n\nhttps://www.weather.gov/lwx/2017HATOverview\n\n \n\nWant to tour the planes & talk to the pilots that fly into hurricanes for\nbetter forecasts?\n\n \n\nFor the first time ever, four Hurricane Hunter aircraft will be visiting\nReagan Washington National Airport (DCA) for a public event. Hurricane\nexperts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and\nthe U.S. Air Force will visit to talk with our community to raise awareness\nof our local threats from tropical cyclones, and the danger of being caught\nwithout a personal hurricane plan.\n\n \n\nHurricane Hunter pilots and crew from NOAA and USAF, as well as Dr. Rick\nKnabb (Director of the National Hurricane Center/NHC), NHC hurricane\nspecialists, and meteorologists from our local NWS forecast office will all\nbe on hand to educate residents of vulnerable communities about hurricane\npreparedness, and will be available for interviews.\n\n \n\nStaff from local and state emergency management offices, non-profit\norganizations such as the American Red Cross, NOAA & FEMA, and other\npartners will be a part of the event.\n\n \n\nCommunity groups, media, elected officials, and the public are invited to\nparticipate and tour the aircraft and exhibits. Public tours will start at 2\npm. The gates will close at 4:30 pm, but those inside will have until 5 pm\nto tour. Registration is not required for the public tours; those wishing to\nvisit this event can simply show up any time between 2:00 and 4:30 pm. No\nbackpacks or large bags permitted.
