    "content": "http://www.gbhc.org\n\n\nHello all,\n\n\n\nLotsa plannin' goin' on in these parts\n\nfor March and April . . .\n\n\n\nI am preparing for the Greater Baltimore\n\nHamboree and Computerfest / ARRL Maryland\n\nState Convention at the end of this month.\n\nSee the official web link above.\n\n\n\nSo far, I am flying pretty much solo, but\n\nI have some big plans that I think can be\n\npulled off without much sweat.\n\n\n\nYou are invited to pass by to chat while\n\nyou are there.  Or, if you are so moved,\n\nyou can join forces with me, regardless\n\nwhether or not you are an ARRL or AMSAT\n\nmember.  (I could use a hand or two. ;-)\n\n\n\nThe basic plan:\n\n\n\nI have TWO tables reserved for an AMSAT\n\nbooth in the Exhibition Hall, not far from\n\nthe main ARRL booth.  I will set up there\n\nin Timonium on Friday night, March 26,\n\nso that we can hit the road \"running\" as\n\nsoon as the hamfest gates open to the\n\npublic on Saturday morning, March 27.\n\n\n\nI have two one-hour forum slots to fill\n\non Sunday morning, March 28, for AMSAT.\n\nI am working to get a visible AMSAT\n\nofficial to start with a short talk (any\n\nsubject), and then I will backfill the\n\nremaining time with a Microcontroller-\n\nbased simulated satellite project that\n\nAmateur Radio beginners and long-time\n\nexperimenters will be sure to enjoy.  My\n\nsegment will culminate with a small\n\nballoon launch, not unlike what Bob\n\nBruninga, WB4APR, did years ago except\n\nthat the \"flight modules\" got smaller,\n\ncheaper, more powerful(!) and expendable.\n\n\n\nI will publicize a local AMSAT-DC Workshop\n\nthat will be held in Greenbelt in late\n\nApril like last year.\n\n\n\nI welcome your advice and recommendations.\n\n\n\nAll things considered, the hamfest should\n\nbe lots of fun.\n\n\n\nThoughts??\n\n\n\nThanks,\n\n\n\nPat\n\nN8PK\n\n\n\nMr. Patrick L.
