To hold a workshop \nwe need firm support and action in all three \ncategories of planning, conducting and \nattending/attendance. \n\nFocus: To BUILD AND TEST something. \n\nPick one from the following: \n\n1. a PICetSat II flight module on a printed \n (thru-hole) circuit board of my design \n similar to that module shown at \n http://simsat.net/carrollsat/\n or \n\n2. the SDR SoftRock Ensemble RXTX transceiver \n of a tried and true design, as shown at \n http://www.wb5rvz.com/sdr/ensemble/\n or \n\n3. the BETA model SoftRock VHF receiver as \n shown at \n http://www.wb5rvz.com/sdr/ensemble_rx_ii_vhf/\n or \n\n4. the SDR Cube transceiver as shown at \n http://www.sdr-cube.com/\n or \n\n5. a photovoltaic system battery charging \n regulator for two 12V deep-cycle 90AH \n batteries for an array size of TBD at a \n cost of under TBD. However, we will need a \n knowledgeable volunteer to contact me ASAP \n to lead this Emergency Communications task. \n\n\nSuch a workshop for any of these five projects \nwill take nearly a whole day on which to make \ngood progress. We need a free or low cost place. \n(I have a free facility in GSFC Greenbelt which \nI can obtain for us but it will require passing \nthrough Security like we did for our workshop \nlast time.) BUT, . . . \n\nIs there enough interest? \n\nPLEASE RESPOND soon, by Tuesday, February 7, \n5 PM, to this public amsat-dc list (preferred) \nor privately (to me at [email protected]). \n\nI will need good help, a good team. It can \nbe a great time. A great opportunity! Please \npass the word. \n\nWill you help or attend? What part or parts? \nCan you provide actionable intelligence? :) \n\nOr thoughts? \n\nThank you! \n\nCheers,\n\nPat Kilroy\nN8PK\nAMSAT Area Coordinator\nMaryland-DC Area\n\n\nP.S.\nFor anyone who wishes to conduct a gathering \nof topics/discussion/papers/showNtell like \nthat of yester-year then I will help as an \nadvisor, facility option provider and an MC, \nbut you will plan and conduct all other \noperations. Any takers? Serious inquiries \nonly on this particular topic, please. \n\n\n-----------------------------------------\nMr. Patrick L.
