"content": "\nTo add to Pat's suggestions ....\n\nJohn Papas - K8YSE -\nrecords many of the passes and posts the recordings here ==> \nhttp://www.papays.com/sat/general.html\n\nAnother great site for \"just getting started\" ==> \nhttp://web.me.com/clintbradford/Work-Sat/Home.html\nClint has a 4 page PDF file with a nice chart on what frequencies to \nprogram into your HT\nto account for the Doppler shifts during the pass.\n\nEarly morning passes -- 5:00am- 7:00am are much, much less crowded \nthan the ones later in the day\nwhen everyone is awake :-)\n\nSO-50 is \"calmer\" than AO-51.\n\nAO-51 now requires a 67Hz PL tone (added this week ) The satellite \nis experiencing longer periods of\neclipse - and the batteries are weak -- so the power management \nsoftware may turn off the FM repeater.\nThe control stations respond as quickly as possible and turn it back on.\nIf you can't hear it -- it may not be you !\n\nA good place to check for \"real time\" satellite status \n==> http://oscar.dcarr.org/index.php\n\n\n\nAs Pat suggested -- check the AMSAT satellite status page ==> \nhttp://web.me.com/clintbradford/Work-Sat/Home.html\n\nHOPE-1 aka HO-68 - you can hear the CW beacon -- but the FM \nrepeater is down ..\nI have not heard the ISS FM repeater on lately -- but the APRS \ndigipeater is usually on 145.825\n\ntry pushing some packets up to the ISS and then check this site after \nthe pass ==> http://www.ariss.net/\n\n\n\n\nIt really is lot's of fun ---\n\nBruce\nWA3SWJ\n\n",
