Dee was one of the editors of the AMSAT News \nService and an AMSAT New Jersey Area Coordinator. He was the main \npoint of contact for many amateurs as he covered most of the New \nJersey hamfests on behalf of AMSAT. Dee was one of the mainstay vol-\nunteers for AMSAT at the Dayton Hamvention for years. He also gave \nsatellite presentations for the clubs in New Jersey. Dee helped \nwhere ever he could, often behind the scenes. He worked on QSL duties \nfor SAREX, ARISS, and ARISSat-1 missions so many of you have likely \nreceived a card from him. \n\nDee was a well known and respected mentor for amateur satellite oper-\ntors, helping them understand the technical details and make success-\nful radio contacts via satellites. \n\nDee's other amateur radio activities in Northern New Jersey included \nthe Bergen Amateur Radio Association, Bergen County CERT, AMSAT, and \nhe was the treasurer of the Bergen County FM Association. Dee, and\nhis wife Ginny, N2EYN always participated in the Dayton Hamvention\nand AMSAT Symposiums. \n\nDee was the principal trumpet player for the Rutherford Community \nBand and a member of the Waldwick and Westwood Community Bands. He \nwas also an avid hunter and a member of the Association of New Jersey \nRifle and Pistol Clubs. \n\nBefore retiring he was the supervisor of the Radio Shop of the Port \nAuthority of NY/NJ. \n\nThe funeral was held on Friday, April 13 in his hometown of Lodi, New \nJersey.
