The length of the eclipses will increase throughout the\nmonth, and we'll have to closely monitor our power situation. The schedule\nreflects this, as the BBS will be active throughout the first two weeks of the\nmonth. Additionally all AO-51 transmitters will be shut off on March 31st for a\nspecial Whole Orbit Data collection before full illumination ends.\n\nAs the month progresses we will schedule some time with the L/U BBS switched to\na L/U repeater on an \"as available\" basis. Watch the webpage and ANS for\nannouncements with further details.\n\nApril 2008 AO-51 Schedule\n\nMarch 31 until April 30, subject to modification\n\nMarch 31\n\nAll Transmitters OFF for WOD collection\n\nApril 1 - April 13\n\nFM Repeater, V/U\nUplink: 145.920 MHz FM, NO PL Tone\nDownlink: 435.300 MHz FM\n\n9k6 Digital L/U BBS and Telemetry\nUplink: 1268.700 MHz FM\nDownlink: 435.150 MHz FM\n\n\nApril 14 - April 30\n\nFM Repeater, V/U\nUplink: 145.920 MHz FM, NO PL Tone\nDownlink: 435.300 MHz FM\n\n9k6 Digital L/U BBS and Telemetry\n -- OR --\nFM Repeater as available (exact dates to be announced)\nUplink: 1268.700 MHz FM\nDownlink: 435.150 MHz FM\n\nThe AO-51 Operations Group is made up of AMSAT Members who are also \nAO-51 users.\nThe Operations Group works with the Command Team to create the monthly schedule\nfor the satellite.\n\nAO-51 Echo Mode Suggestion Email Address:\[email protected]\n\n73 KO4MA For AO-51 Operations Group\n(KO4MA, WD9EWK/VA7EWK, N8MH, OZ1MY, VK5HI, WA4SXM)\n\n[ANS thanks Drew, KO4MA, for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-090.02\nSatellite Demo Videos\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 090.02\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nMarch 30, 2008\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-090.02\n\nRobert Davies, KI4HXT, has produced a Windows media video showing how to work\nAO-27. Dave Jordan, AA4KN does the actual satellite demonstration during the\n2008 Orlando Hamcation. Dave describes the Doppler shift that will \noccur during\nthe pass, makes a number of contacts during the pass, then talks about setting\nup the Kenwood TH-D7A hand held for analog satellite operation. Drew\nGlasbrenner, KO4MA was doing a simultaneous demonstration and has a cameo\nappearance describing the arc of the upcoming pass. This is about a 20 minute\nvideo.\n\nBob McGwier, N4HY also has a video recorded in February that talks about the\nAMSAT Engineering activities during the next few months. Good information about\na number of activities that are taking place this year. Amateur stations are encouraged to try out the\ntransponder. Try to better the previous distance of record of 292 km \npreviously\nachieved with the prototype transponder (same location/antenna).\n\nReports welcome to < amsat-zl(at)kiwisat.org >\n\n[ANS thanks AMSAT-ZL for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-090.06\nARISS Status - 24 March 2008\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 090.06\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nMarch 30, 2008\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-090.06\n\n1.
