There was a model of\nEagle and several of the modules being considered for the satellite on\ndisplay. Our construction staff answered many inquiries and described\nactual tasks ahead to put this bird into orbit. A large banner\nindicating Eagle is in the building stage underlines the need for\nfunding to be building as well.\nA Phase 3 E brochure was on the table to show its readiness to begin the\nlong trek to the launching pad as well. Remember there is a direct\nrelationship of funding vs. a successful launch.\nOn Friday night, the joint AMSAT/TAPR dinner held under the wings of\naircraft at the Air Force Museum was a great success. Comments after\nthe dinner were positive and all enjoyed a great evening of table\nchatter and aircraft viewing.\nA special thanks to our contacts in Dayton for making the Hamvention run\nso smooth for those that assisted in the booth and presented at the SRO\nforums.\n\n[ANS thanks the AMSAT 2007 Hamvention Committee for the above\ninformation]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-147.02\nCQ Hall of Famer's\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 147.02\n>From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nMay 27, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-147.02\n\nRichard Moseson, W2VU, Editor of CQ Amateur Radio Magazine announced\nCQ Hall of Fame Inductees for 2007 at the Dayton Hamvention. There\nare 15 inductees into the Amateur Radio Hall of Fame and three new\nmembers each of the DX Hall of Fame and the Contest Hall of Fame.\n\nThe CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame honors individuals who:\n\n1) Whether licensed hams or not, who have made significant\n contributions to amateur radio; and/or ...\n\n2) As licensed amateurs, have made significant contributions either to\n amateur radio, to their professional careers or to some other\n aspect of life on our planet.\n\nTwo radio amateurs were recognized for their contributions for amateur\nradio in space:\n\n + Bill McArthur KC5ACR - Astronaut who set various ham radio operating\n records from the International Space Station, including being the\n first person to complete WAS (Worked All States), WAC (Worked All\n Continents) and DXCC (DX Century Club) from orbit.\n\n + Farrell Winder, W8ZCF - Transmitted first SSTV signals to MIR space\n station. One of the modes that was able\nto be partially restored was the packet system but the operations\nwill be on 145.825 simplex. General voice communication as well as\nconfigurations to support school contacts were also saved.\"\n\nThe ARISS team continues to work on a solution for a full restoration\nof the radio which is required to return full functionality of the\nradio system. This process will require access to a computer system\nand certification of the required software. This request is being worked\nwith all necessary international space agencies so it is thought that\nit will take a significant amount of time to get all parties involved\nsatisfied before the actual restoration can occur.\n\nIn summary, the current ISS radio configuration being tested includes:\n\n + 145.825 MHz simplex is for packet operations only.\n\n + Voice frequencies have not changed (144.490 up and 145.800 down\n for ITU regions 2 & 3 or 145.200 up and 145.800 down for ITU region 1)\n\nIn closing, Kenneth wrote, \"In the mean time, enjoy the packet\noperations when the crew is unavailable and keep listening just in case\none of the ISS crew decide to give out a 'CQ' over your part of the world.\"\n\n[ANS thanks Kenneth, N5VHO for the above information]\n\n\n\n/EX\n\n\n\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-147.04\nLVB Tracker Boards\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 147.04\n>From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nMay 27, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-147.04\n\nGould, WA4SXM noted, \"Howard Long's LVB Tracker boards were a huge\nsuccess at Dayton.
