Additionally it features a 435 to 145 MHz \nLinear Transponder for SSB/CW operation for use outside school hours.\n\nIt will support the many existing educational Science, Technology, \nEngineering and Maths (STEM) initiatives including GB4FUN.\n\nThe target audience consists of school pupils and young people gener-\nally, FUNcube will feature a 145 MHz telemetry beacon that will pro-\nvide a strong signal for the pupils to receive.\n\nA simple FUNcube dongle SDR receiver has also been developed. This \nwill connect to the USB port of a laptop to display telemetry and \nmessages in an interesting way.\n\nThe project commenced in October 2009 and it is anticipated that the \nsatellite will be launched before the end of 2011. More information \ncan be found at http://www.funcube.org.uk/\n\nAs the technical work on the satellite itself is now well underway, \nAMSAT-UK is now looking to develop the educational outreach part of \nthe project. This will include the design and contents of the \"ground \nstation\" laptop display, the best method of providing the information \nso that it relates to current curricula, and all the supporting infor-\nmation that will be needed by the teachers. As they have little current \neducational experience Amsat-UK need additional professional advice as \nto how to carry it forward.\n\nThe FUNcube website now has details of the planned educational aspects \nof the project. See http://www.funcube.org.uk (see the \"education out-\nreach\" link).\n\nIf you are in the educational field and have experience in curriculum \nmatters then please consider helping AMSAT-UK with this.\n\nIn the first instance please contact Richard G3RWL for further infor-\nmation via e-mail: g3rwl at amsat.org\n\nThe latest FUNcube information can be found on-line at these pages:\n\nFUNcube website\nhttp://www.FUNcube.org.uk/\n\nFUNcube SDR Dongle\nhttp://www.FUNcubeDongle.com/\n\nFUNcube Yahoo Group\nhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/FUNcube/\n\n[ANS thanks AMSAT-UK for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-353.05\nARISS Status December 13, 2010\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 353.05\n>From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nDecember 19, 2010\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-353.05\n\n\nAmateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) Status Report\nDecember 13, 2010\n\n\n1.
