For the satellite portion of the\n demonstration, Craig operated on AO-51 and SO-50.\n\n+ Taking advantage of good operating conditions aboard the recently\n recovered AO-27 satellite its controllers have shifted the bird's\n schedule to begin 7 minutes earlier than usual and have extended\n the transmitter's on-time to 8 minutes. This will allow operators\n to contact the satellite DXpeditions currently active aboard cruise\n ships in the Carribean. See http://www.ao27.org.\n\n+ Here's a chance to do some space browsing in the shack while\n waiting for the next satellite pass. http://sky-map.org/ features\n an interactive sky map with point-and-click accessibility. You\n can simply point your mouse at any sky object and a small pop-up\n appears displaying the name and a brief description of that object.\n By clicking on the object you instantly have access to detailed\n information about this star.\n\n+ Sources at SpaceDaily.com reported this week the International\n Space Station will likely remain operational until 2025 according\n to the head of the Russian spacecraft manufacturer Energia. Nikolai\n Sevastyanov said Tuesday, \"By 2009-2015, Russia will be the only\n country able to deliver crews to the station. No one is going to\n sink or drop the ISS, as all countries realize that the station is\n becoming a full-scale industrial facility in space. Although it is\n scheduled for decommissioning in 2015, its operational life could\n be prolonged until 2025. Energia has proposed making the station\n permanent. If we terminate its existence, it would be hard for man-\n kind to implement such a project anew.\"\n\n[ANS thanks everyone for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-035.04\nUpcoming ARISS Contact Schedule as of 2007-02-02\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 035.04\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nFebruary 4, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-035.04\n\nQuick list of scheduled contacts and events:\n\nTotal number of ARISS school contacts is 267.\n\nQSL information may be found at: \n\nhttp://www.arrl.org/ARISS/arissfaq.html \nhttp://www.rac.ca/ariss/oindex.htm#QSL's \n\nISS callsigns: DP0ISS, NA1SS, RS0ISS\n\n*****************************************************************************\n\nThe schedule page has been updated as of 2007-02-02 23:00 UTC.
