Following a nominal terminal countdown, the launch sequencer\ncommanded ignition of all 9 Merlin first stage engines for a period of 3.5\nseconds.\n\nJust prior to engine ignition, the pad water deluge system was activated\nproviding acoustic suppression to keep vibration levels within acceptable\nlimits. The test validated the launch pad propellant and pneumatic systems as\nwell as the ground and flight control software that controls pad and launch\nvehicle configurations.\n\nThis was the final step for the rocket and launch pad before launch itself.\nSpaceX is now waiting for completion of the final set of tests of the flight\ntermination system, specifically the explosives and initiators, and the\nacceptance of that test documentation by Air Force range safety.\n\n[ANS thanks SpaceX for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-080.07\nARISS Status - 15 March 2010\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 080.07\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nMarch 21, 2010\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-080.07\n\n1.
