This year's event will be held in memory of Haruo (Harry) Yoneda,\nex-JA1ANG, a past AMSAT Director and co-founder of JAMSAT. Harry was\nalso a keen CW operator and a past member of the First Class CW\nOperators Club (FOC).\n\n Participating in OSCAR SKN is fun and simple. No scoring and no\nneed to send in a log. Just operate CW through any OSCAR, using a\nstraight hand key, at any time between 0000 and 2400 UTC on January 1, 2008.\n\n In keeping with the friendly nature of this event, all participants\nare encouraged to nominate someone they worked for Best Fist. Your\nnominee need not have the best fist you heard, just the best of those\nyou worked. Please send your nomination to W2RS at [email protected]. Those\nnominated will be recognized in an AMSAT News Service bulletin, and in\nThe AMSAT Journal.\n\n\n[ANS thanks Ray, W2RS, for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-336.02\nANDE Re-Entry Campaign:\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 336.02\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nDecember 2, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-336.02\n\nThe ANDE-MAA satellite (Nav Oscar - 61) will de-orbit in the\nnext few weeks but is fully operational. We encourage activity,\nbecause while it is in use (2m packet up/down), then it is awake\nand sending telemetry. We want to capture the most telemetry to\nsee if we can catch the thermal changes as re-entry approaches.\n\nWho can capture the last telemetry frame?\n\nThe most important telemetry is that which is fed live by IGate\ninto the APRS-IS system. Because that is automatically logged\nand time stamped.\nYou can verify your data got in by looking at the\nhttp://pcsat.aprs.org web page after each pass.\n\nIf you manually capture any packets, Please take special care to\naccurately LOG the TIME of any packets received especially in\nthe final day prior to re-entry. See the contest page below for\nhow to submit entries:\n\nHere is the ANDE Operations web page. It has links to live\ntelemetry too:\nhttp://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/ande-ops.html\n\nAnd this one is the CONTEST for data collection and operations\nsponsored by PA3GUO and DK3WN:\nhttp://www.ande-deorbit.com\n\nAny APRS station that is also on the internet can contribute\ntelemetry by simply QSY'ing their normal APRS rig receiver to\n145.825 on that final day.\n\nIf you do not normally run APRS or an IGate, then you can simply\ndownload ALOGGER.EXE which is a full up IGate designed just for\nsatelite gating without having to learn APRS. See Bill's web\npage:\nhttp://www.billdiaz.dynip.com/ASatLogger.htm\n\nANDE is coming over the northern latitudes in the afternoons and\nevenings local sun time, but this pattern moves earlier by 14\nminutes per day.\nJust monitor 145.825 MHz.\n\n\n[ANS thanks Bob, WB4APR for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-336.03\nAMSAT Awards\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 336.03\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nDecember 2, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-336.03\n\n\nWe would like to welcome the following to the satellite community.\nThey have made their first satellite contact and are now members of the\nAMSAT Satellite Communicators Club.\nRichard Silva, WA6ES\n\n\nAMSAT Sexagesimal Award\nJuergen Pape, DF7WIN, #145\n\nAMSAT W4AMI Satellite Operator Achievement Award Basic\nChris Martin, KG7EZ, 2K, 3K, 4K endorsements\n\nAMSAT W4AMI Satellite Operator Achievement Award 5,000\nChris Martin, KG7EZ, #20\n\nTo see all the awards visit http://www.amsat.org or\nhttp://www.amsatnet.com\n\n\n[ANS thanks Bruce Paige, KK5DO, for the above information]\n\n/EX\n\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-336.04\nARISS Status - 26 November 2007\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 336.04\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nDecember 2, 2007\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-336.04\n\n\n1.
