We need to have much to say and \ndemonstrate. I expect to demonstrate:\n U-RX\n S2-RX\n V-TX\n SDX\n IHU\n anything else that comes together.\n\nI expect to see presentations from each and every team lead. We need to \nshow the membership what we're DOING and reap the benefits therefrom \n(hint, hint).\nSpecifically, I think we should present papers on:\n\n Project management and status (I am willing to present 45 minutes; \nI'd much rather talk for 45 SECONDS outlining what YOU will present -- \nyou're doing the work!)\n U-RX\n S2-RX\n IHU/CAN-Do!\n V-TX\n SDX\n The LAB (with LOTS of photos!)\n Structure redesign\n Power systems\n Antennas\n ACP\n Orbit analysis/prediction/control\n Propulsion requirements\n\nI'd like to see each of you submit an abstract in the next week or so, \nand then a paper. If you can't be present to personally present the \npaper, let's get it published anyway, and give me the chance to find \nsomeone to present it for you.\n\nMatt, Phil, Bob: We REALLY need to publish something about the ACP. \nThe last public pronouncement is the minutes of the San Diego meeting \nalmost a year ago. Yet, the ACP is a (to some, THE) major Eagle \npayload. But all we've published is some musings on the phased array \nantennas. Matt, you talked about a \"generic\" digital package at \nPortland, it's time to at least articulate the things we're thinking about.\n\nEagle should dominate the Symposium to the point that the ultimate \narbiters of presentations say, \"Enough!!\"\n\nIf you have questions or need guidance, please contact me.\n\nAgain, it is very important that the Eagle team have a large presence at \nSymposium this year. Some would say it's not necessary, since we're on \nEaglePedia. I disagree:\n decades ago, in a Public Speaking course, I learned that, \"You've \ngot to tell them, and tell them, and tell them again.)\n days ago, in a recruiting/retention seminar, a marketing expert told \nme that you've got to tell them SEVEN, I say again, SEVEN, times. \nEaglePedia is only one.\n\nSo, let's think about what we're doing, what we're planning to do, and \nwhat we've accomplished. Then let's write it down.\n\nBy the way, much of what I have in mind here is information you need to \nsend me anyway for my update to the Board of Directors, so this really \nisn't that hard. Please prepare something.\n\nSubmit abstracts to Dan Schultz, and copy to me so I know what to expect.\n\nThanks & 73,\nJim\[email protected]\n\n\n \n", "attachments": [] }
