The revised cover has not yet\nbeen done but its features are implicated in this current view. The machined\nbase plate has robust beams around three sides. Further, there are\nstiffening beams machined on the bottom side of the baseplate. The side to\nside dimension of the baseplate is shown at 141mm, reduced from its previous\n147mm. This step was needed to accommodate the cover screw heads now on the\nside of the module.\n \nShown also is a revised connector plate, which is increased in width from\nthe previous 122mm to the 141mm of the baseplate. This should ease the\nconnector space issue a little as the cover PEM nuts have accordingly been\nmoved out leaving a 125mm wide clear space for connector activity, an\nincrease from 106mm.\n \nThe PCB is unchanged, however its standoff posts are now 6.4mm (1/4 inch)\nfrom the previous 4.8mm (3/16 inch), a step needed for connector plate\nscrews.\n \nThe cover will slide over the assembly shown and it will have only one\nflange, along the rear side. The long sides will use screws placed into the\nedges of the assembly (formerly a flanged side). This means that there will\nnot be mechanical loading on the baseplate caused by irregular flange bends,\nas in the present cover design. \n \nRegarding this design of module, the PCB access has been fully maintained,\nbut the cover cannot be removed while the module is installed into the\nspacecraft, a feature that had been planned with the current design.\n \nDiscussion is invited.\n \nDick Jansson, KD1K\n <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] \n <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] \n \n125x180 Module Assembly.jpg\n\n\n", "attachments": [ { "email": "https://mailman.amsat.org/hyperkitty/api/list/[email protected]/email/KYYG6EXV4ZEGDMGRGYOUMNSJRBNHLAS2/?format=api", "counter": 3, "name": "attachment.html", "content_type": "text/html", "encoding": "us-ascii", "size": 25088, "download": "https://mailman.amsat.org/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/message/KYYG6EXV4ZEGDMGRGYOUMNSJRBNHLAS2/attachment/3/attachment.html" }, { "email": "https://mailman.amsat.org/hyperkitty/api/list/[email protected]/email/KYYG6EXV4ZEGDMGRGYOUMNSJRBNHLAS2/?format=api", "counter": 4, "name": "image002.jpg", "content_type": "image/jpeg", "encoding": null, "size": 20249, "download": "https://mailman.amsat.org/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/message/KYYG6EXV4ZEGDMGRGYOUMNSJRBNHLAS2/attachment/4/image002.jpg" } ] }
