"content": "Jim:\n\nI am very sorry to learn of your resignation as Eagle Project Manager. Big \nprograms such as Eagle, no matter what kind of organization is doing them, \nrequire the type of disciplined management you have been providing. I can \nthink of an AMSAT project\n completed a few years back which would have benefited greatly from your \nkind of leadership.\n\nIt know your work as Eagle Project Manager has been a strain, especially \nsince you are also holding down a full-time job. Many AMSAT functions \nrequire talented people who don't have to work for a living. But such people \nare hard to find.\n\nI hope the AMSAT officers will be able to locate someone who can fill your \nshoes, but that will be difficult.\n\nGood luck and hope to see you active in AMSAT again when that becomes \npossible.\n\n73,\n\nBill, W3XO\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Jim Sanford\" <[email protected]>\nTo: \"AMSAT Eagle\" <[email protected]>\nSent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 6:07 PM\nSubject: [eagle] Eagle Management Change\n\n\n> Team:\n> Last night I transmitted a significant letter to Rick Hambly, Bob\n> McGwier, and the AMSAT Board of Directors.\n>\n> As a result of life changing events this year, I have realized that I no\n> longer have time for amateur radio and therefore Eagle. With GREAT\n> regret, I tendered my resignation as Project Manager and Assistant VP\n> (Director) of Engineering. I simply do not have the time to do this\n> right, and would therefore prefer someone else do it.\n>\n> I deeply regret having to take this decision. I got into this when\n> asked because I saw it as a chance for me to give something back to\n> AMSAT. It also gave me the wonderful opportunity to work closely with\n> the awesome intellect that you all represent. Working with you people,\n> this team, has been a highlight of my personal and professional life.\n> It is painful to step away, but I must do so -- I'm over extended, and\n> must reprioritize some things in my life.\n>\n> Many of you have worked very hard and have worked hard at doing things\n> differently. In the process, you've taught the ENTIRE ORGANIZATION some\n> new things that we must deal with in todays era of electronics -- both\n> process and technical details. I beg you all to not give up and please\n> continue.\n>\n> I will support and encourage from the side lines, as I can.\n>\n> Thank you all for all that you've done. I wish you, and Eagle, only\n> good things.\n>\n> Very 73,\n> Jim\n> [email protected]\n>\n>\n> _______________________________________________\n> Via the Eagle mailing list courtesy of AMSAT-NA\n> [email protected]\n> http://amsat.org/mailman/listinfo/eagle \n\n",
