"content": "Chuck:\n\nNot that my opinion counts for anything in this issue, but I for one support\nthe concept of edge mounting of the CAN module, using whatever connector is\nfinally selected. The edge mounting would not of itself mandate the use of\nthe HD connector as you will not really same much more space by its use. One\nissue related to the edge-mounted CAN module is a mechanical one, in that\nsuch a mounting presupposes a cantilevered mass of the CAN module supported\nby the connector, this is totally unacceptable as it would ring like a\nchurch bell under these conditions. The CAN module must be basically\nattached to a main PCB that brings the CAN module connector to the Connector\nBracket, along with other connectors. \n\nThis edge mounting of the CAN module will also occupy space on the Connector\nBracket that could also be used by other of the PCB's edge mounted\nconnectors, and I am very sure that we will hear about that waste of\nconnector space, too! To some degree, this is a no-win situation.....\n\nDick Jansson, KD1K\[email protected] \[email protected] \n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of\nChuck Green\nSent: Tuesday, 17 July, 2007 03.47\nTo: Louis McFadin\nCc: Dave Black ((Work)); Dave Black ((Home)); David Smith; AMSAT Eagle;\nSamsonoff@Mac. Maybe people feel these issues have \nbeen well covered in the past. If so, a simple \"looks good to me\" would \nbe helpful.\n\n(snip)\n\nThanks,\nChuck\n\n\n",
