Hello, I am trying the get this combination to work together. I can get pcsat32 to work the g-5400 rotator ok. Problem is getting the pcsat32 and kct\t to tune the 847. I've tried many different settings and many uninstalls and installs trying to get this to work. I have been using wisp with the kct\t and 847. everything works. The doppler tuning is not too good on ssb birds. So thought i would give pcsat32 a try. any help or ideas would be appreciated. Please reply offline. Help wigh GS-232

Hi Group, My GS-232B Rotor interface has stopped interfacing. When I issue it a command in terminal mode it returns a load of non standard characters. It will not control the G-5500 from SatPC32. Does this sound familiar to anyone and is there any way to reset or reprogram this unit? Many thanks in advance. vy 73, John Meeks KC8ZFN

SCRAP and DDE

Does anyone out there know if SCRAP has anyway to communicate with external rotor control software, such as DDE. It looks like it has a couple supported controllers hardcoded into it, but I can't seem to find anything about making az/el data available outside the program. Can anyone help? Thanks, Andy K0SM/2

Wayne W9AE replies: Don't use the "tuner" portion of your KCT/T. Just connect a null-modem serial cable between the FT-847 and a serial port on your computer. Then go in the SatPC32 Setup -> Radio menu and specify the port number, radio model, and baud rate. Be sure to specify a matching baud rate in the FT-847's menu #37. 57600 baud is best. The FT-847 requires a "null modem" serial cable that swaps pins 2 and 3. I don't know why Yaesu didn't wire the CAT connector to use a straight-through serial cable. DSP satellite detection on 10m?

MARScom downlink: 27.9625 MHz USB If anyone wants to try their DSP prowess at detecting the 1200 baud AX.25 downlink from MARScom on 27.9625 MHz USB dial frequency, there is a great opportunity. MARScom only has till mid July before it de-orbits. We suspect the 4 foot HF wire did not deploy, and so no one has heard it. But then no one with big ears and DSP prowess has reported attempting to do so. It beacons a 1 sec packet once a minute. Just thought I'd post the challenge. MARScom is coming over in the evenings in the Northern Hemisphere. Its packet uplink is 148.975 FM and it should digipeat on demand via the UNPROTO APRS VIA ARISS path for any MARS stations that authorized to transmit on that freq.
