For whatever reason, the Satellite VUCC has not been that popular (compared to 6M, 2M, etc.)

Would also like to add my congrats to KC9TTR.
I earned VUCC Sat #45 in 1995, so only 90 were issued over the 9 years to 2004. That's an average of 10 per year at a time when we had HEO sats and a wealth of LEO sats.
101 VUCC's over the eight years from 2004 to 2012 is an average of about 12 per year.

My goodness! I got #135 on April 5th 2004. There must have been a long dry spell.

First of all, congrats to KC9TTR for #236 !!
As a side comment, I look up at VUCC #226 (dated 12-29-11). That means there have been only 100 VUCC's this year. The death of HO68, SO67, AO51 and now AO27 really put the 'hurt' on new activity. I feel fortunate to have got most of my grids from AO-51. Any future VUCC's are going to take a lot of effort and hard work.
