Another good solution for filtering transmit and receivers is a pair of duplexers. Put one on the 2 m side and one on the 70 cm side with separate feeds to two radios. you can create pretty good isolation between the two radios and avoid defense even on 70 cm with 2 m up. Just make sure you have a 70 CM Radio that has one of the better receivers so it is not just affected by the ambient RF field.

I have found using 2 HTs, the best receiver goes on RX, and a filter, BLP-200+, MFJ-916B, etc..., to prevent desensitization works very well.

There is a good case to be made for the IC-2730A, as it is full duplex and can do more than 5w if needed. Cost wise, it is similar to 2 decent HTs, so that is another option too.

Such a simple question but I am a loss finding an answer.  I've searched many of the AMSAT Journals and only found photos of people using HT's.  I looked at "Getting Started" which did list some HT's, but I suspect that booklet may be dated.

So, which HT's are being commonly used by members NOW??

If you wish, to avoid clogging the BB, you may answer directly.
