Adding to the other replies, I recommend doing a web search for posts by WD9EWK, he has reviewed a number of these radios and identified models that may be less susceptible to desense on V/U satellites. Agree that best approach is better receiver on downlink band and the Baofeng for TX.  The FM birds can get VERY busy, so ability to monitor the downlink all the time is essential.
