Happy New Year to all!
Due to the current problems with Keps Files
and the new XW-3 satellite, some hints for SatPC32 users:
1. Make hidden files and folders visible
(Windows 10: File Exploer - Start > View > Options >
Folder Options > View).
Then you can open all SatPC32 data files, Keps files etc.,
modify and save them using Notepad.
The path to the SatPC32 data folder is shown in the footline of
menu "Satellites". The Keps files are located in the sub folder
"Kepler" of the main data folder.
The most important auxiliary files can be
opened from SatPC32 menu ? > Auxiliary Files.
2.To fix tthe error in the current
nasabare.txt and nasa.all files delete the 2nd half of these
files, starting with AO-07. You will find the 2nd
position of AO-07 in the file using the Notepad search
function.
3. Add the following entry to the aux.
file AmsatNames.txt at the end of the file. (Make sure that the
spacing is the same as with the other entries).
50466 21131B XW-3
(you can specify any name you want).
In menu Satellites > Sat. Names
choose option "Use Amsat names if available".
SatPC32 will then display the satellite
with the name you gave it regarddless of the name in the source
file.
4. When you have a working
configuration save it with DataBackup (SatPC32 menu "Programs").
Do that from time to time. Then you can easily restore the working
configuration if problems occur later. DataBackup can be run stand
allone in the SatPC32 program folder.
