Hi Tyler.

This is a little historic.

Having moved away from these descriptions about 10 years ago they seem to be returning.

Personally I prefer the more descriptive

Mode U/V first letter uplink second letter downlink UHF up VHF down or L/S V/U S/X etc etc.

Never could remember them then.......and still can't now.
