there must have been a email I missed, that specified the 'brand,make/model ' of preamp
or do they all draw 170-180ma?

I would first check the current draw, which should be around 170-180 ma in RX. And there is always the old trick of hooking it up backwards. Been there, done that. ;) If that is good, then look at the coax cables.

Was working before the QTH relo. Reinstalled in the attic. The 144 preamp, same power supply, working just fine.
Any ideas on how to check w/o taking it apart? The connectors have not been modified.
