Hi!
I received an e-mail from Omar XE1AO, who forwarded a message from Ismael XE1AY about an upcoming DXpedition which is planning to also include some satellite activity.
The DXpedition will go to Seora Island, IOTA NA-122, in grid FK58oe in the southeastern part of the Dominican Republic. The island has a maximum elevation of 35 meters (about 115 feet) above sea level. The DXpedition will be on between the 19th and 23rd of November, operating in CW, SSB, and digital modes on the HF and 6m bands. There will also be satellite operating on the SO-50 satellite. The radios for the HF/6m work will be Icom IC-7600s.
DXpedition members will include hams from the Dominican Republic, some US hams, a Puerto Rican ham, and Ismael XE1AY from Mexico. The HI2DX QSL manager is M0URX in the UK. The group has updated the HI2DX information on QRZ:
Ismael also mentioned that 4 grids cover the Dominican Republic (FK48, FK49, FK58, FK59). Ismael may be able to travel to some of the other Dominican grids when he is not on Seora Island for the DXpedition. Ismael did not mention what call sign would be used for any activity outside of the DXpedition.
