A little more digging in her blog seems to indicate that she did have a contact with Iran. http://spaceblog.xprize.org/space-blog/amateur-radio-anousheh-ansari-spa ce-blog/ and scroll down to comment #8.

I believe she was calling for EP3RF. They were planning for a contact on September 25th with some students attending the session. However, I have not seen any comments if this actually happened... Instead I've got a report through her Blog, that in Iran the band is associated to some governmental services and nobody else may listen or read anything on it. Instead, most amateur radio operators are using the old 27MHz (11m) band.. I don't know if this is true, but it may explain why the contact may have failed..

She was active at 07:33 UTC over England trying for an Iranian
callsign..she didn't use phonetics but it seemed to be EPT??RS. There seems to me a number missing in the sequence so I can't be sure if I got it correctly.
After three tries she stopped and then appeared on the Moscow Mission
Control frequency 143.625 and I just heard a few words from her before the pass window closed.
