Thanks Howard,
It worked fine.
Did the programming via serial port.
Used the PicProg.exe file from your website and placed it in C: directory together with the "LVBTrack.hex" file.
Used the "Command Prompt" feature in WinXP and the following command:
C:>PicProg LVBTrack.hex \.\COM7
This is a slight different command line as stated in your documentation since the new hex file has a different name.
Also, for those of you that would like to do that, please use your own com port number (mine was 7)
The program will ask you to set HDR1 and HDR3. These are the 3-way and 2-way headers with the little contact bridges. The 3-way header is actually HDR 1 and is next to the J4 buttons. Both headers have a program (PGM) position.
I left the LVB tracker connected to the YAESU G5500 control box as a power source.
Thanks,
Stefan VE4NSA

Folks
A few weeks ago my attention was drawn to a compatibility problem with Nova and the LVB Tracker 1. I believe that I have found the fault, but it is not clear why it has taken so long for this problem to occur, especially as Nova has been my tracking program of choce for many years! It may only affect more recent versione of Nova.
I have adjusted the LVB Tecker's Baud Rate Generator slightly to be much closer to 9600bps. I must have made an error in my calculations all those years ago, so it was only operating at 9259bps. I have adjusted the BRG by one to make 9616bps and things seem to be much better now. Technically, we were only 3.5% out anyway which normally would be OK (ISTR that 5% timing error is the limit).
Anyway, new 0.9 binaries and source here:
