Hi Andy,
... wondering if the AO-40 LNBs connected to a Funcube dongle (and a bias tee for power) would receive the carrier (is there one on DATV) from the ham TV test transmissions?
Gaston's announcement is posted on the AMSAT-NA web under the title, "Update on HamTV on ISS". For a direct link to the article see: http://ww2.amsat.org/?p=2177 ... within the posting there is a link which may help with receiving HAMTV.
Bill Ress, N6GHZ has provided an excellent article, Low Cost DVB-S Receivers Suitable For HAMTV Reception, in the November/December issue of the AMSAT Journal. There is a link on the web page (above) where you may find a copy of this article.
Bill discusses the DVB-S boxes he tested. He includes a short description of the RF front-end you'll need.
