First of all, thanks to everyone for the assist. Have received many replies, including several off-list. Best part about being involved in AMSAT is the sense of camaraderie and a willingness to share knowledge.
Still having some issues.
Decided to forgo installing more terminal emulation software..and just use the front-panel buttons instead. Manually set Yaesu G-4000B to 0 degrees elevation and due South. Then turned power off to the rotor.
My unit is the STS2-0417 with a USB port on the rear. It connects to the computer using a USB A/B cable.
Computer recognized the unit, and assigned it to Comm Port 3.
When I power up the unit, I receive an indication of which version it is:
LVB 0.7
This is followed briefly by a warning message:
Warning: Bad EEPROM Data
When I power on the Yaesu G-4000B, it immediately begins to the elevation from 0 degrees towards 180 degrees with no button pushed, nor input from me.
I have checked the connections from the DIN Cable on the rear of the STS2, and everything appears to be in order. Each lead is labeled with a small label maker, so difficult to screw up.
Thoughts?

Ray is spot on. Just use the buttons and menu right on the box.

It really is simple enough to use the Fox Delta menus to step through the calibration. I found it easier to push a few buttons on the box than to download terminal software, install, and learn to use it.

Now that I have made up the patch cable to interface the Fox Delta STS2 controller to the Yaesu G-5400B Az/El rotor, all my problems are solved, right?
No.
Loaded the drivers from the Fox Delta site, and connected everything up. My computer, which runs Windows 10 recognized the new USB controller and assigned it to COM Port 3.
The setup instructions for the STS2 advise me to use the terminal emulator program such as Hyperterminal to verify communication between the computer and the STS2. Unfortunately, Windows 10 no longer includes Hyperterminal.
Tried downloading about ten different terminal emulators…and have been unable to successfully verify communication.
Ultimately, I’d like to interface the Fox Delta STS2 to PCSat and have it automatically track satellites during passes.
If anyone has faced similar challenges, and can offer assistance, I’d be very grateful.
