Hi everyone,

Would like to share a technical note.
The Yaesu G5500 is a fine rotor, but not weather sealed.
The two metal shells are clamped together and will leak. 

I have taken apart other failed rotors, always the same problem - water ingress.

I sealed mine up prior installation.

Depending on if yours is the AC or DC version, HRO has plenty of the AC version Yaesu elevation replacement motors.
I have purchased them in the past and they work well.
