All,
I had an Icom IC-W32A for about year and a half. I tried that with either an Arrow or a Premier AL800 antennas and NEVER was able to work AO-51 or any other satellite. It was quite difficult to hear a bird on 70cm downlink. I never heard my return. Upon trying satellite work it was noticed that one of the receivers was not as good as the other. One can do it by simply tuning both receivers to the same distant repeater. I'm glad Icom has put an end to that HT and hope that the company will come up with a new unit which will give us a chance to forget a word: "FRUSTRATION"

Hi to the list, it is a while that I've noticed that my trakbox when it terminated to track the satellites it should put my radio in parking frequency which should be:
RX_Freq : 1296.500 TX_freq :144.800
But I always get:
RX_Freq: 1296.499.9 TX_freq: 144.800
How you can see, the RX_Freq is 1 Hz down. I've tried to set the RX_Freq to 1296.501 But when it parks, it goes to: 1296.500.9 Can anybody explain me what happens? Thanks in advance.

Due to technical difficulties with the 443.100 N4HHA repeater, check-ins in the Orlando area should listen for tonight's Florida AMSAT Net on either the KE4TTE 442.100 MHz repeater or the K4SLB 444.450 MHz repeater. I will use the 442.100 freq. as net control. If I have any problems linking into that machine, the 444.125 WD4HIM repeater will be my backup.

I have 2 Kenwood TH-79A duplex HTs . Work great for AO51 and use them portable all the time. No problem hearing the downlink. Can be set for simplex or full duplex. -- VK2TRF QF56oe P5 or nothing

Good point.
The "second" generation of IC-W32A had and still have a horrible desense problem. Not at all useful for full duplex on the birds. Sold mine quickly.

Trying to set up D700 as a Satgate, so far, can't seem to copy aprs traffic off the air. List doesn't show anything although I am able to hear plenty of traffic. I transmitted a beacon and status reports. Probably have something set wrong. Using radio A for data.
Would someone be willing to send me a setup file so I might see what I'm doing wrong?

I've been busy doing "other things", but have just seen the email messages about the V(USB)/U(FM) Mode.
So, gave it a go just now on the 09:40 UTC, 3rd November pass as AO-51 went just a little West of New Zealand.
I was able to work VK2ZAZ, Geff, in New South Wales, Australia, from here in Wellington, New Zealand.
Very cool giving it a go. Thanks to the AO-51 ops.
I used Nova to watch the pass and display the rotator settings, which I was changing manually. (Must get around to building the interface for that :-)
Used Ham Radio Delux to Doppler-tune my Kenwood TS-2000. Set to also support manual, so I could adjust the transmit a little to keep my pitch sounding OK.
As others have noted, including the message below, some very extreme level changes in the receive signal.
At times, fully quieting the FM receive, but then dipping right away to no copy, and then fading back again.
This is not something I have heard when AO-51 is in the more normal FM/FM mode.
Regards, Jim, ZL1TYF.

Fades suddenly comes and I feel that modulation of FM down signal is shallow.
