Before Charles Clancy and I left Virginia Tech (he to MITRE and me to retirement) we helped kick of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative in Virginia with $25M from the state.  It came into full existence just as Ieft and as all these crazy cyber attacks hit the Feds and many others.  We look like geniuses again.

There are FORTY FIVE THOUSAND unfilled cyber jobs in Virginia alone.   Desperately needed research will be undertaken now in campuses across the commonwealth of Virginia.

This crap pisses me off to no end.  The loss of money, time, and security anger me greatly.  I felt so strongly about it I refuse to even think about forming a company and helped others who are younger and brighter and have more time.

There was nothing personalized about the attack at all; it was a garden variety "SQL injection" attack .   We see multiple attacks of this type every day;  this one was just bigger than usual.
