Paul, The SpinSat team certainly applied to the IARU Satellite Frequency Coordination Panel for a 437 MHz frequency http://www.amsatuk.me.uk/iaru/finished_detail.php?serialnum=268 Of course that doesn't necessarily mean that the amateur payload made it into the completed satellite. As you say the satellite has 6 months of battery power only, no solar panels. Since the amateur payload is a secondary mission objective they may wish to complete the primary mission first before activating it. 73 Trevor M5AKA
