I agree 100%.
As a relatively new amateur sat enthusiast (but long time scanner listener and radio enthusiast), I get slightly turned off when I see negative responses.
I firmly believe that the hobby would grow substantially if it appeared that people of all skill levels and all contributions were welcomed.
Chances are that seasoned hams occasionally forget that they were once newbies themselves, taking for granted the kind hearted approach and opportunities offered to them decades ago.
To me, besides just the interesting and fun technologies, protocols, and connections with people, ham radio offers a sense of wonder and endless exploration that is often otherwise abandoned or excluded in other interest areas. When negativity comes up, it takes that away.
While I realize that ham radio is just a reflection of the real world, which offers all degrees of personality types, I'd like to think that it has the possibility of having the most positive subset of humanity too.
Cheers and 73s, Kevin

I shudder when I read negative vibes on amsat-bb. The opportunities in amateur radio and even in the satellite world are so big that every contribution has a place. Perhaps someone in range of the repeater heard about AMSAT for the first time and 10 years from now will lead us to a GEO opportunity.
C'mon guys ... there are so many opportunities awaiting!
