Hi Tony,
I have had a few netbooks and never liked em that much.
For work and portable ham operations, I use Lenovo X61 Thinkpad laptops. Dual-Core CPU, 3 Gigs RAM, and typically a 100GB hard disk. 3 USB ports; I used serial-to-RS232 if required. These are available off-lease on ebay for about $250, and smoke just about any netbook. They have a full size keyboard, and weigh 3 pounds. For another $99, you can add a 500GB hybrid solid-state/disk drive, which allows me to boot Windows 7 in less than 10 seconds.
I'm using one now, and was when having the CW QSO with you yesterday...

All, Mni tnx for the responses about netbooks. Generally, a lot of satisfaction with them, with concerns abt. speed and keyboard size. In my application, neither should be a problem. ASUS was highly recommended. 73, Tony, N2UN _______________________________________________ YCCC Reflector mailto:yccc@contesting.com Yankee Clipper Contest Club http://www.yccc.org Reflector Info: http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/yccc
