The CAT interface on the 736R uses TTL signal levels, so if you're up to some wiring, one of the "TTL Serial USB Adapter" available on the Internet should work.  Just need 2 wires - Tx data from the dongle to the rig and ground.  USB on the other end.

Back when I was using that rig for satellite work, I made my own using a simple NPN transistor and a few-K ohm resistor, driven by an old PC's serial port.  You could do something like that from a regular (RS-232) dongle.
