That was a really cool contact. Thanks again John. I was working portable with a IC-821 and Arrow for tx and an old HTX-100 and 10 meter dipole 2 feet above the ground for rx. I was so happy when I heard you come back to me.
The mode A transponder seems to be in really good shape the last
few days.

but no luck catching anybody on there. Just an occasional whistle or cw
paddle of someone trying to find their signal. I am in DM04 and can work
the bird consistently in that mode on passes 25 degrees elevation or more.
