I just got back to putting my sat station back together over the past month or so after a couple of years of inactivity.
One of the things I dusted off was my Az/El rotor and controller project, that uses a pan/tilt base (the type used for BIG outdoor security cameras) as a positioner for my sat antennas.
I built some microcontroller firmware for a cheapo eBay relay board that emulates a GS232 controller, and steers the pan/tilt base. This was basically done a couple years ago, but never got around to sharing the code. Perhaps it could be useful in somebody else's project.
I've now put it online here: https://github.com/bgelb/sat_rotor.
