I, too, am very sad to hear of Ron’s passing. We had many good QSOs, and conversations. Our experiments with digital modes were fun and Ron did a great job of putting much of the resulting AMSAT article together.
During our conversations we discovered that we had been at Northeastern University at the same time during the ‘60’s. He was a post-doc, while I was a grad student. Unfortunately, our paths did not cross during that time.
Condolences to his family and to his “ham radio family”. We are all missing him. RIP, my friend.

Sorry to hear about Ron's passing.
Ron was a member of the FlexRadio Alpha team as well and his input on Alpha releases of SmartSDR and how it worked for the Amsat world will be missed. He has helped many a FlexRadio user with their setup. As well, he provided much feedback to the engineering team.
I had just had a l long conversation with him 2 weeks ago about an Amsat project. So, this comes as a big shock to me.
RIP Ron. Many thanks for all your contributions to the hobby. You will be missed.

Geez, I had many QSOs with Ron, with the latest just last Sunday on RS-44 FT4 where he could frequently be found.
Ron will be missed.
