Michael, While the VX7R is not duplex, It can be used for satellite contacts. You do not need a programming cable as it can be programmed for separate channels on TX and RX And can be found in the manual how to do this. I have used it many times to demo satellites at Hamfests and meetings where say AO-51 is going to have a decent pass to use. You must announce that You are using a hand held during your cq's so the big guns stand by for your contact to be made. 73, Dee, NB2F

I was wondering if anybody has used a Yaesu VX-7R for Satellite use? I'm having troubles programming it and was wonder if it was worth the investment in a USB cable and software ? Thanks in advance !
