Hi All,
Snipped from Dave's WB6LLO post re: power-mongers on AO-7.
BUT.....some dork running tons of power managed to overpower us at every attempt...deliberately??? or otherwise... First time I've had that happen in over 27 years of satellite operation...where do these guys come from??
We really do need to nip these guys in the .... err ... (bud) ... and teach them it's *NOT* like AO-51 where the "mine's bigger than yours" mentality prevails ... (he means FM "capture effect, folks).
There are recommended operating proceedure notes on the AO-7 Resource Page, lets encourage the potential newcomers to linear transponders to *READ* them.
25 watts *EIRP* is more than enough to work AO-7 ... PROVIDED ONE USES AN AERIAL and has a pair of those wierd things attached to the side of your head ... (ears) !!!.
To the "unsure" ... pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese read this ...
