Pretty much what Mark said. The IC-9700 was going to be my Bucket List satellite rig until that issue turned up. I already have a much more capable rig which also does not support 9600 baud TX. Hi Hi
One point I have found in talking with Icom employees, as well as those folks who have somewhat unofficial but influential connections, is that they have a limited concept of what you mean when you say 9600 baud. They are basically thinking classical packet, while in fact it is just a shorthand for the required audio response of several modes and uses such as satellite telemetry, and the growing use of VARA for EMCOMM work. It hasn't resulted in any action, obviously, but mentioning those does prevent them from tuning you out immediately. It couldn't hurt to include those in communications.
