A couple of quick thoughts:
--maybe increasing the CAT delay will help with SatPC32 not always setting USB-D? 
--for trying FT4 on AO-109, since the downlink is on 70cm, it's a good idea (or maybe even necessary) to set the CAT update rate from the default of 1X to 5X.
