Especially if you bring this down converter signal into your Receive ONLY port on the TS-2000.
That way you also protect it from any chance of accidently transmitting through it.
I have been doing this for many years with a Hamtronics down converter like this and it works great.

It may work at the beginning and end of the pass when the signal is clear of the birdie, but in the middle of the pass, it's quite problematic.
If you really want to use a TS-2000 on SO-50, a downconverter like this one from High Sierra Microwave (http://www.hsmicrowave.com/432M7.html) will allow you to avoid the birdie. SatPC32 can be programmed to tune to the downconverted frequency so it will work just like normal with Doppler correction.

The birdie is a permanent feature of the TS 2000. Have had many SO 50 QSOs with the K4AMG TS 2000.
Bottom line it works.

Due to the difficulty on finding a decent 910H (and then the often high
price being asked), I am considering a TS-2000.
Is the little UHF birdie present on all models (all years)? Is there not a fix as of yet?
I am very much willing to pay up to $1200 right now for a decent 910H, and although I don't mind, I don't need the 1.2Ghz module. Otherwise, I am having to consider other options as this rig is for a classroom environment for the next few months, including an ARISS
contact.
Looking for advise, thoughts, ideas, etc. A few have helped out here a good bit, of which I am very thankful. (both leading me to the 910H for what I find hands down solid advice, but I am about up against the wall now...)... Those that have 910's listed for sale in my price range won't return emails..... Suppose they are sold.
Thank you on advanced for your replies! And Merry Christmas!
