Hi Tom, glad to hear when folks become radioactive again!
If turning on the preamp doesn’t solve the issue, I suggest resetting the rig, first a partial and then a full reset. Manual will give the magic key press combinations.
If resetting and making sure the preamp is ON doesn’t work, I’d be thinking something in the receive side has an issue. Time to debug or get professional help!

Im getting back in to satellite after about 6 years being off. My ts-2000 used to work great but when i have tried it this time, every satellite is very weak and almost cants hear anything. To troubleshoot if it was my antenna system, i placed a new FT-991A on the antennas. I hear the satellites pretty well. im using satpc32. but the ft991a is a halfduplex radio and i can not hear my own signal. This means i cant calibrate it to the correct frequencies. I know people are using the ft991a. Does anyone have a way to calibrate the uplink or downlink using the satpc32?
antennas are 14 element 2 meter and a 11 element 70 cm antenna on az/el rotor and about 100 ft of the new messi low loss superflex cable.
