Amsat NA is now showing it with a launch date of June 2008. I found that by going to the satellite status page and then clicking the "future satellites" link at the top. Of course, we all know to take that date with a grain of salt. If we could actually trust some of the launch dates given, P3E would already be in space by now. 73, Michael ,W4HIJ ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Hackett" [email protected] To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected]; "[email protected]" [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 6:25 AM Subject: [amsat-bb] A query.
Hi all, Does anyone have any current information on the whereabouts/state of the SUMBANDILA (lit: 'pathfinder') satellite that was built by Stellenbosch universdity. South Africa.
The last I heard - (a year ago) - it had gone for "testing".
This satellite with a 2m/70cm transponder was to be launched at the end of 2006 ... then May 2007 ... it is now January 2008 and I can't recall seeing any pertinent info: on any of the bulletin boards.
If anyone has any 'recent' information I'd appreciate a hands-up.
