You are completely right Jerry, an exchange of call signs and acknowledge from both stations is needed for a successful QSO, but we need to keep in mind that satellite contacts are performed on tight time period and the signals from the birds are not all the time clear enough to copy 100%, as you get experience working on the sats you familiarize with most of the every day operators and then you began relaying on equipment like a recorder that help you analyze the audio and if you were not able to copy the call at the time you contacted that station you probably will have a better reception of that station on another QSO going on, but we all were inexperienced operators once and missed a couple of call because of that reason, a little help is always of great support and we all can give new station the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful hobby.

I may be hated for this but I have to ask, if you make a contact and you get the call wrong so you would not get a QSL card because you can't mail the right person is it really fair to use another medium to search out the correct call in order to secure the contact for award reasons? I always thought the QSO had to be a successful exchange of at least the call signs over the air to count as a contact. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

All,
Worked AO51 this evening, a pretty quiet pass, had some time to actually talk! Myself & Dave Kb5WIA work a station with call K7TWQ in CN94. When I went to log him in I could not find his call in any of the usual DB's, Dave also could not find him. We both tried several variations on the theme but no soap. If you're out there and we got your call wrong or if anyone knows who we worked, please let us know. CN94 is a new grid for me, I'd like to get it in the book.
