Zack,
I am in the process of uploading my logs to LoTW, and I sent a request for a certificate for KD8KSN/8 to cover my portable operations in Ohio, and I set the begin date and left the end date blank. After I did that I realized that you can only have one location per certificate. What should I do in this case?
Certificates are used for the callsigns you use, not for locations you operated from. You'll get one certificate for KD8KSN/8, and that's fine. Not setting the end date was a good thing. Once you have that back from ARRL and loaded into your TQSL program, you can define as many station locations in TQSL as needed where you used KD8KSN/8 as your call.
For me, I have one WD9EWK certificate but probably 70 or 80 different station locations based on just that call. I have certificates for other calls I have operated with and station locations defined for those calls, but the one WD9EWK certificate has been the only one needed for my satellite operating in the continental USA. TQSL holds all those defined station locations for all calls.
Good luck, and hope to see some matches from you in LOTW soon. Please feel free to e-mail me directly if you have additional questions.
