The old Mirage B1016 I have sometimes used on Mode J attenuates 70cm signals. The amp’s antenna port is permanently connected to a low pass filter. I am guessing most 2m amps are similar, but only a guess.Ray KN2KOn Sunday, August 11, 2024, 5:42 PM, mikflathead--- via AMSAT-BB <amsat-bb@amsat.org> wrote:
How much power are you planning on running? On RS-44 I use a foot switch to disable the speaker when transmitting so as to not great back ground noise. I am wondering about using a 2 meter amplifier for Mode J satellites, where you transmit on 2m and receive on 70cm. Will the filtering in most amps severely degrade the receive signal on UHF?73 John AF5CCSent using Zoho Mail
